Therapeutic Foot Reflexology (RX-1)

Reflexology is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after forms of alternative medicine. Based on a "roadmap" of zones and reflex areas, the bodyworker can effect phyical change to the body through work on the hands, feet and ears.

This workshop is designed for massage therapists who want to add to their knowledge of reflexology techniques. In this workshops, we will focus on the feet, exploring the reflex points there that map to specific organs and systems of the human body.ntation, discussion, and group and individual practice time. Breaks, with refreshments will be provided.

Workshop Overview

The workshop will give you tools you need to perform basic reflexology sessions with your clients:

• Understand the basic history and origins of reflexology
• Be able to read and map the reflexology zones and reflex areas on the feet
• Learn new techniques for manipulating energy flow through reflexology on the feet
• See demonstrations of best practices (dos and don'ts) of reflexology
• Practice in class under the help and guidance of a qualified instructor

The workshop consists of presentation time, exercises, group discussion and summary exercise. Breaks are built in for your comfort. WiFi is available.

What to bring: (Required):

• Your massage table (watch for an email to confirm this! For sessions at NHI, tables will be provided so you don't need to bring them)
• Medium (cream is preferred but oil or lotion will work)
• Full set of sheets (bottom sheet, top sheet, face cradle cover)
• Bolster or pillow
• Clothing: Loosely fitting sports clothes (shorts, t-shirt, tank top, sports top). You'll be draped for any targeted work.

Optional:

• Blanket

Instructor: Curtis Hisao, CMT, BA, BBA

Curtis has more than 10 years experience teaching massage and developing massage curriculums for leading massage therapy schools. He has had his own private practice since 2003 and has been the lead massage therapist for the San Jose Earthquakes (Major League Soccer Team) since 2007. Before starting a career as massage therapist and massage therapy instructor, Curtis worked for 30 years in customer service.

Registration and Fees

Register before the early bird deadline and pay only $80. After the early bird deadline, you'll pay regular price, $100. This price includes a four-hour hands-on workshop in a small group with individual one-on-one mentoring to help you get the practice you need to start using your new techniques in your practice right away.

Payment in advance is required when you register each workshop. We accept all major credit cards through PayPal.
