Multitasking Moms – More Stressed?

Working moms are notoriously busy, and often find that the unpredictability of parenting, especially parenting small children, leads to additional stress. Stresses from maintaining a relationship with their spouse or partner also put pressure on multitasking moms.

“Researchers found that working mothers spent 10.5 more hours every week on multitasking compared with working fathers — typical chores like preparing dinner, doing laundry, maybe even doing some work brought home from the office, while also talking with their child and helping with homework.” (Michigan State University, 2011)

If a working, multitasking mom is preoccupied and stressed, she may be less efficient at her job and possibly prone to mistakes that need correcting or a slowed rate of productivity. Stress also puts a strain on family relationships. If her children feel stressed too, it’s a sure recipe for further conflicts, hurt feelings and difficulty during the day.

So what’s the answer to reclaiming control over a stressful life? Massage can help. Just one hour of massage every two weeks can significantly reduce physical, emotional and psychological stress.  You’ll find this one hour important for your mental health as well.  Try it for a month and you’ll see a difference–really!
